The former Liverpool manager admits a return to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club remains something that could happen. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell which brought Champions League success and the Premier League crown for three decades, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and providing guidance to Germany's league body.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won the league title under Arne Slot, but many fans holding him in high esteem would embrace the possibility that he might come back one day. In a wide-ranging interview, he shared with his interviewer: “I said I will never coach a different club on English soil. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. In theory, it could happen.”

“Being 58, so I could make the decision later on, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding which situations would need to occur to draw him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing under bad weather through long matches; I don’t miss going to press conferences multiple times weekly or constant media duties a week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the players enjoying conversation, that’s nice. Success was frequent thus frequently great spirits in the building. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly for his successor, crediting him due to the changes which secured the championship last campaign. Liverpool have lost four in a row in every contest following significant transfers, but he rubbished the notion that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. The French striker, superb talent. They have a strong well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, along with the consequences for the team. Jota died tragically in a car crash with his brother in July.

“Can you substitute such an individual? It’s not about the player himself, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the team environment missing him. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A devastating blow for all the boys too. Nobody at Liverpool will ever use it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Handling this emotionally is not easy. Overwhelming.”
