That Gory Animated Movie Ending That Stays With Audiences

Out of all the adult-oriented animated films I have ever viewed, nothing has lingered in my mind as much as the fear-filled ending of a graphically gory and highly provocative film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, this Spanish writer-director developed a dark, melancholy and often savage universe with some tiny , desolate glimmers of optimism.

Although Unicorn Wars seems like it stemmed from a drive to push animation even more, the director clarified that it was actually an attempt to express a universal, multicultural theme regarding “the shared root of every conflict.”

That message is conveyed through a squad of vividly colored bears , obviously based on a famous line of lovable figures.

Growing up in a society built around warmongering as well as the military-industrial complex, a lot of these animals are fixated on killing the mythical beasts, thanks to a holy book which states the bears they used to be rulers of the forest, until the unicorns forced them out.

A few have not completely fallen for the propaganda, and would rather try out narcotics or engage sexually in the forest.

Unlike their friendly equivalents, these colorful critters show genitals , definite urges.

For a particular notably brutal, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the battle against unicorns transforms into a road to power — and particularly to supremacy over his softer, more compassionate sibling Tubby.

The character is a bully and an apparent psychopath , and as horror overcomes his group and takes his teammates one by one, he seizes increasingly power on his own behalf, through ever more violent, harmful methods.

Simultaneously, these mythical beings are enduring their own horror, through a spreading, harmful creature in their habitat.

“Initially, it seems like a comedy,” the director said. “But then it evolves into a more intense and sorrowful film. And by the end, it’s a scary feature.”

The Unicorn Wars commences feeling a bit like among the quirky features by a legendary filmmaker, that discover a mischievous joy in permitting cartoon characters swear, fire weapons, or have intimate relations.

Subsequently it turns into more akin to a more grim movie from that artist, with increasingly explicit brutality and a noticeable connection to the actual horror of war.

In the finale, it’s a complete extreme drama bloodbath.

The horror that makes the film a Halloween-friendly watch kicks in well before than one might expect.

Unicorn Wars is suited for the devoted fans of gore, for lovers of graphic films who desire to watch something they have not seen on-screen before, and who can handle a narrative that pulls no restraint.

Watch it in a dimly lit space with no disturbances, and that ending will crawl under your skin and take up residence there.
