Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
