Prosecutors report that a ex- physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
