Former BBC Consultants Face Members of Parliament's Inquiry In the Wake of Allegations of Prejudice in Disclosed Memorandum

Former British Broadcasting Corporation specialists appearing in front of parliamentary committee

We begin with queries from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, who chairs the group.

She initiates by offering background to the disclosed document prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.

"I don't want the BBC slanting in any particular direction, I simply desire it balanced, unbiased and just," he says.

Upon being questioned whether he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, Prescott answers: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is top-tier - including informative and non-factual shows."

Nevertheless, he states: "There exists significant effort that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

A further ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation consultant interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it maintains a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" regarding dynamic and complex subjects.

"Did the BBC ready to engage in a genuine conversation and exchange and implement changes?" she asks herself. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
